A Christmas Spectacular.

This weekend we went Christmas shopping. We are hosting Christmas for both families this year, and making our best effort! Brian got me a beautiful China cabinet so that we can finally move our nice dishes upstairs. They have been in boxes in the basement, unused, since we moved. As a big surprise, we also bought a guest bed, new matresses, and new towels. My family is going ot be so excited when they come!

We have also been trying our hand at Christmas baking. Brian's hungarian cookies turned out very well...my cake balls, notsomuch. At least we are doing all this ahead of time, so we can fix any disasters that arise!

I can't wait for Christmas!

An update long overdue.

Things in the Koluder home have taken a serious turn for the better. First, it is once again our family home, not just the boys and I living here. Second, we are really working towards making it OUR home, and not just a place we live in.

Brian has been working furiously on the basement to finish man-land. Last night, while looking at his work, I had tears in my eyes. Brian asked me why, and there are so many reasons. I am so proud of what he has accomplished down there, with only his skills and vision guiding him. He created that space, and is making it his own. I envy his ability to see this project for what it could be from the beginning, and making it all happen with his own hands. Great care and skill have made this room come together, and I am so proud of what he has done. The sheer scope of the project overwhelms me, yet he has known exactly what he has wanted to do from the start. I am so proud of what he has done. I hope he feels that same pride when he is down there.
